About the talk

Since ASHEKMAN is all about Arabic urban culture, we will discuss how during our 16 years of ASHEKMAN we worked hard on incorporating the Arabic in all our disciplines, if it’s through the rap music, street art or our urban fashion clothing line, in order to change the perception of: 1- the younger generation, that sees the Arabic language as outdated, and tends to speak english or french, instead of their mother tongue. 2- Redefining the perception of the Arab world.

About Ashekman

Established in the year 2001 in Beirut/Lebanon by identical twin brothers Mohamed & Omar Kabbani, ASHEKMAN is an Arabic street art concept that includes Arabic Graffiti, Calligraffiti, Arabic rap music and Arabic street wear.
Proud of their heritage and language, the ASHEKMAN twins mission is to revive the Arabic rich culture and history through art, and to make the Arabic language/ calligraphy visually more appealing.
