About

About | In this workshop each attendee will test their artistic skills by closely following a brief with a set of guidelines on color, form and contrast to create a set of coherent, yet individual illustrations.

Once each attendee has completed their own interpretation, you will work as a team to assemble a larger work of art, so that the outcome of the workshop will be a collaborative piece, where the smaller individual parts come together to form a collective 2D piece.

5 Things You’ll Take Home
1. Understand how a design studio works
2. Learn to follow a brief with a set of guidelines by creating your own illustration
3. See the infinite possibilities of one brief
4. Test your artistic skills on colour, form and contrast
5. Work as a team to create a large modular illustrative piece

Each attendee will take home their work.

About the talk

Hvass&Hannibal will be sharing a handful of their most inspiring design processes revealing some of the mistakes and uncertainties that often turn out to be very defining for a project. Also this will be a general talk about their body of work, and about maintaining an international client base with a small team of two.

Clients include Apple, Google, Adidas, 4AD, Microsoft, Computer Arts, Biotherm, Heal’s, Ralph Lauren, Polo Jeans, Wired and Wide Eyed Editions.

About Nan Na Hvass

Friends since childhood, Copenhagen-based Nan Na Hvass and Sofie Hannibal were already being commissioned by international clients when they were undergraduates together studying visual communication at the Danish School of Design. Since then, through their own design studio, they have produced illustrative and conceptual design work across multiple media platforms for numerous clients in Europe, Asia and the US.

While the duo sometimes work solely in the digital realm, they often utilise a host of different materials and production techniques to create three dimensional artworks, art directed packaging and even whole environments.
